The InFerence mind-module makes a mentifex-class artificial Mind able to engage in automated reasoning by inferring a new fact from a previously known fact. This InFerence e-book is not about inference in general, but about inference in the AiMind or MindForth software that thinks in English, and the Wotan software that thinks in German, and the Dushka software that thinks in Russian. For inference in general, one may consult Wikipedia or conduct a Google web-search on inference.
Collectively, this InFerence e-book and any other mind-module e-books to be found among Kindle e-books constitute a second edition of the AI4U textbook from 2002, which can be found on Amazon as a Kindle e-book or as a physical print-book in hardbound or paperback format. The first edition of AI4U in 2002 was a print-on-demand (POD) self-publication comprised of thirty-four chapters, each devoted to one of the thirty-four mind-modules then in existence. In the years since 2002, the software names of the mind-modules have changed to a format compatible with the wiki-pages of the MindForth project on Google code. For example, the InFerence module is spelled with two uppercase letters in it so that any occurrence of the word InFerence is clickable on a wiki-page. The AI software in Forth or JavaScript does not care if the modules are named in wiki-format, so the module names were changed not only on the documentation pages, but also inside the free, open-source software for artificial intelligence.
An AI Lab working on AI Minds could easily have one or more Kindles each containing the original AI4U e-book and separate e-books for each separate mind-module, especially the newer mind-modules which did not yet exist in 2002 when the hardcopy first editions of AI4U were published by iUniverse.
